The Open Championship returns to Carnoustie in July 2018 which will be the 147th Open Championship. Once again the world’s greatest golfers will gather to do battle for the famous Claret Jug on the East Coast of Scotland over one of the country’s finest and most testing links courses.
Since 1860, The Open has been played over some of the world’s most cherished links courses and has produced a remarkable legacy of great champions. It is the oldest and most international championship in professional golf and the Claret Jug - first presented in 1873 - is one of the most iconic trophies in all of sport.
The Open will be played at Carnoustie Golf Links from Sunday 15th to Sunday 22nd July (tournament days 19th – 22nd). The last time The Open was played here was in 2007 when Ireland’s Padraig Harrington was victorious.
